Early Release?

Okay, well here’s a reward for you folks who have been really patient with this.

This post will present you with access to the official Minutes To Midnight Australia/Linkin Park Australia COMMUNITY Forums.

Before navigating there, let me warn you – Read the rules, and make sure you understand them. If you have any questions, PM me and let me know what’s wrong. I will not tolerate any rule breakers. Use your common sense people.

ALSO – If you’re gonna have a sig or avatar, upload them on some image hosting website, like Photobucket or something. I’ve disallowed anyway but you can’t use the server space to upload your photos, sigs and avatars or whatever (Also, keep the length respectable – I haven’t imposed a limit but if I see some overly large ones, I will prune them).

We will see how things go but maybe we can get a domain name later or something.

Otherwise, enjoy!

I figured I’d keep you guys in the loop about this so here, I present to you, the final design for the community/forums.

finalcommunity.jpg

Looks even more classy than the last IMO – more smooth and flowing.

Being the final decision/design – at this stage, I will not change it too much to quickly. I hope you guys like it – you will be on it soon enough 🙂

Anyway, in other news – this Saturday is 7/7/07 – you know what that means? LIVE EARTH

LP is playing in Japan so check your local guides for coverage information.

Sneak Peak, As Promised

EDIT: ALL THE BETA USERS HAVE NOW OFFICIALLY BEEN IDENTIFIED…STAY TUNED FOR MORE NEWS AS IT BREAKS

Well I should deliver on my promise and give you guys a peek a what the forums are shaping up to look like.

Here are two images with the possible final styles. I prefer the second as it looks more tidy but the first does wrap around the size of your browser window so if you don’t have a widescreen monitor, do not fret.

Let me know what you think so far. The logo isn’t what will be used in the final design at all. I will design that later but first I must put some more testing in place and some thought into how we will establish Beta privilages and all.

Full LPTV Episodes….Coming Soon
June 18, 2007, 1:49 am

Okay, I promised a cool surprise…Here it is.

For those not in the loop,

LPTV is like a behind the scenes look at Linkin Park – Their touring, their recording, their antics (I can’t stress this last one enough). This album cycle, LPTV was released in two versions. The one that the majority of the public got to see was the ~3 minute versions, which, while packed with great insights into LP’s adventures, was not the whole picture. There was a second version, which, unfortunately was released only to USA residents through the US iTunes store. These versions were 7 minutes long and had WAY more stuff in them (Heaps more funny stuff).

Now, I have found out from the grapevine that there is hard work being done by M2M in order to possibly attain these episodes for you guys (LEGALLY). Now, the fun part…should these episodes be a privilage for Beta users? Should they be publically viewable…voice your opinion.

I will tell you that I was in the US a while ago and saw all episodes in HQ – AMAZING! My funniest part was probably at one of the signings in one of the early episodes, where Phoenix and Mike are twinsies…..AGAIN (If you’ve seen Frat Party, you’ll know what I mean).

If you want to preview what kind of footage is in store, I believe you can get 30 second previews (Regardless of your global location) by just opening up iTunes, going to the iTunes store, scrolling to the bottom of the first page that you see – Then select the country as United States of America. Then just go to the Linkin Park section (You can do this through search) and select the LPTV Season Pass in the list of albums you can purchase (Don’t worry, you won’t be purchasing anything).

From here, you should see the catalogue of Episodes listed at the bottom of your iTunes window…Double click on either to begin the 30 second preview of that episode.

Tell me what you guys think 🙂

Bon Appetite!

Just a few stats about M2M

Just for some interest…And my another one of my facts:

  • In Australia, Minutes to Midnight has gone Platinum, according to ARIA charts, which means it has sold 70000+ copies – Congrats crew!
  • Apparently in the USA, Minutes to Midnight has gone Platinum too, selling over 1,000,000 copies (Still to be verified though)!

When you consider these figures in this day and age of music, that’s an awesome feat for a band to achieve. Congratulations Linkin Park!

Oh I’ll give you one more fact I suppose.

Apparently, as this is the way they always did it, Linkin Park was somewhat oblivious to the fact that when they recorded their music, it was much like what a rap group recorded, in that first the tune is done, and then the lyrics are laid over the top to match the tune, and lyrics can be swapped constantly between songs. Rick Rubin did mention this in one of their first meetings that it was probably why alot of their music had the stereotypical Rap/Rock vibe.

Food for thought…
